Description property

Traditional house with courtyard in the old center of Cheglio - in need of renovation.

The property is located in the heart of the village of Cheglio, a quiet and sunny hamlet in the Commune of Trarego Viggiona, at 770 m above sea level, only 10 minutes by car from Cannero Riviera with its renowned Lido and an excellent starting point for countless excursions into the surrounding mountains and forests.

The three buildings are arranged in a "C" shape around the romantic courtyard, forming a very special ensemble full of atmosphere.

The main building, house, is on two floors and consists of an entrance hall with staircase, a kitchen with fireplace, a cellar, and a small understairs room on the ground floor; on the upper floor there are two bedrooms divided by a corridor, a balcony overlooking the courtyard and the access to the attic. Adjacent to this building there is a storeroom with hayloft above, two rooms whose volume can certainly be recovered.
In a separate building, with access from the courtyard and on one floor, there is an antique portico with a large fireplace, and finally, perpendicular to the house, there is the third building on two floors with a stable on the ground floor and, on the first floor, a room used as a storage room with a balcony from which you can enjoy a little view of the lake.
On the staircase leading to the first floor (barn and storeroom), there is an authentic dry latrine. The house does not have a bathroom.

The roofs are still almost entirely made of original local poplar.
