Carmine Superiore is a hamlet of Cannobio, a small village situated between Cannero and Cannobio, surrounded by a beautiful natural environment: in front the lake, behind the mountains. In particular, the hamlet of Carmine Superiore, which can only be reached on foot, is the best preserved medieval rural settlement in the whole province. Its great charm is linked not only to its ancient origins, but also to its location, immersed in nature but leaning out on a rocky spur towards the lake.
Carmine can only be reached on foot, along an easy mule track that climbs from the main road below in a few hundred metres (about 6/700), or by following the Via delle Genti between Cannobio and Cannero.
